History

Broker Network was founded in 1994 and is the UK’s leading Network with more than 250 Members. 

As the broking landscape changed and FSA regulation loomed at the start of the Millenium, Broker Network set about establishing its position as the Enterprising Champion, in its ambition to help brokers of any size, location or speciality.

Created for brokers, by brokers, the business grew steadily in the years up to 2004, when Broker Network Holdings PLC, the parent company of Broker Network, was listed on the London Stock Exchange.

As the first ever Network, Broker Network has worked with insurers and Members to create an increasing acceptance of the model and its benefits.

Together with its founder and Chief Executive, Grant Ellis, Broker Network is recognised as having played a key role in the development of the broker market.

Having listed on the London Stock Exchange in May 2004 and with a listing price of 71 pence per share, the Group exceeded market expectation at every opportunity in terms of financial performance, acquisition and organic growth. In 2007, The Towergate Partnership, Europe’s largest insurance intermediary, purchased the entire Broker Network Group, valuing the business at 605 pence per share.
