What do a cat café, toll bridge and crazy golf have in common?
No, this isn’t a trick question, or a bad Christmas cracker joke. This year, our Members have challenged our Placement Support Team more than ever before to help them place complex risks for their clients.
They receive queries on a wide range of risks every week and no two days are the same for the team, so we’ve compiled a few of the most unique and memorable enquiries Placement Support received and were able to find markets for in 2018:
The team were able to scratch beneath the surface with this placement! The latest craze for cat lovers, cafés that allow you to relax and enjoy a coffee and a slice of cake in the company of friendly felines are popping up across the UK.
Indoor crazy golf
The team hit a hole in one with this placement that they were able to help one of our Members place for their client.
A theme park
There were twists and turns, ups and down, but Placement Support managed ride this risk out and find a market for cover for a theme park.
A retirement home for greyhounds
The team took the lead and were able to help out man’s best friend(s) with this query from one of our Members.
These weren’t the only memorable risks Placement Support found markets for in 2018, the team have told us they had many other interesting placements this year, including:
- A toll bridge
- The supply of (blank) firearms to film and TV industry
- Playground re-surfacing
- A cemetery
- A rare breed cattle society
The team of former brokers and underwriters specialise in finding markets to assist our Members in placing those tricky, awkward or unusual risks. On average, they receive 200 enquiries a month and have assisted our Members in placing more than £2 million GWP this year so far.
