Broker Network sets sight on acquisition growth with appointment of Commercial Director

Broker Network, the UK’s leading network for independent insurance brokers, is gearing up for further growth with the appointment of Tony Monnington as its new Commercial Director.

Tony will work for Broker Network Partners, the acquisition arm of the Network, reporting directly into Chief Commercial Officer Des O’Connor. Monnington will be responsible for implementing group strategies by driving commercial partnership activity, ongoing collaborations and optimising commercial opportunities.

Tony joins the Network from Swinton Insurance where he was Head of Commercial Business, managing over 200 staff and controlling an income of £15m. Prior roles included Corporate Business Leader at Gallagher and Client Management Director at Aon.

Commenting on the new appointment, Des O’Connor, said: “Tony will be a real asset to the Network and brings with him a wealth of insurance broking experience, having worked in senior commercial roles at Gallagher, Oval and Swinton. His knowledge of the market will be invaluable as we further strengthen our Partner strategy over the coming months and years.”

Tony Monnington added: “I particularly wanted to work for a company with a vast amount of growth opportunities on the horizon; which Broker Network does. The role will allow me to use my strategic approach to guide future deals across the UK broking landscape.”
